Engel
Engel was a simple yet robust platform built for a Pharmacy in Germany. The pharmacy in question was faced with an overwhelming number of phone calls regarding the status of orders placed for pick-up. With hundreds of calls a day, the problem was spiralling out of control, costing too much employee time answering repetetive phone calls.
I was brought on to develop a solution that would provide an automatic notification to customers via WhatsApp (WhatsApp is very popular in Europe). Customers simply text their order number to a specialized WhatsApp number owned by the pharmacy and are automatically notified of their order status. The product also included a very intuitive back-end admin interface for employees to manage the status of orders.
Engel is in active use by the customer and due to its exceptionally simple architecture and use of serverless infrastructure requires essentially no maintenance.
